~Mentoring~
What is the difference between teaching and mentoring?
Mentors have traveled the same road the student now travels and have successfully navigated it.
Mentors consider the whole student--not only their academic selves, but also their spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental selves.
Mentors individualize curriculum to match each student's interests, strengths, and weaknesses.
Mentors learn from the student.
Mentors discover each student's developmental level, motivate continuing progression, and inspire fulfillment of the student's potential.
Mentors coach each student.
Mentors look forward to, plan and prepare for, the long-term purpose of each student.
Mentors love every student individually.
At Family Lyceum, all classes include an element of individual mentoring.
Mentor sessions for students and their parents will be scheduled regularly.
We also mentor parents!
