Renae Zentz--Director & Founding Mentor
Renae grew up in a large family in Houston, Texas. She saw her first snowfall at BYU where she completed a BA in Humanities. She began her homeschool journey over twenty years ago. Thrilled to have her children on her own lap learning to read and in her own kitchen learning about life, she has embraced every phase of their education.  She loves teaching all ages, from preschool on the living room floor to leadership classes at George Wythe College, where she received an MA in Education. She and her husband, Harold, enjoy family gatherings, trips to anywhere, and adventures in their own backyard. They have six children and four adorable granddaughters.

Ericka Winkfield--SPARK Mentor 
Ericka is originally from Idaho, but has called Utah home for
twelve years now. She enjoys spending time with her husband
and children. She is blessed with three of her own children.
Ericka loves opened-ended questions, exploration, and hands-
on learning. She loves working with young children and watching them grow to become life-long learners. In this capacity, Ericka feels she is always growing and learning. Ericka has a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She has worked in a variety of schools from home, private, state special needs, charter, and public. Ericka loves Family Lyceum culture, especially strong parent involvement. Ericka feels education is not one specific thing, but rather whole child growth and development.

Kim Davis--Fun Friday 
As a professional storyteller, Kim Davis loves good story, her family, and learning.  Kim is the mother of 8 children and her youngest daughter, Dovie loves the Family Lyceum! Kim joins Dovie and the other adorable children to make Friday fun as the Fun Friday teacher. Kim also teaches Eternal Warriors Addiction Prevention classes and is a mentor and life coach with Life Changing Services.

Keri Tibbets--EMBER Mentor 
Keri is a homeschool mom who loves spending one-on-one time with her children, and now her students, as they work through problems. She enjoys seeing the light in a student's eyes when they figure something out on their own. As a teacher she uses the classroom to create a space for messy, fun and memorable learning experiences that the students love.

Amoryn Mund--Teaching Assistant
Some of Amoryn's earliest memories include playing "School" with her stuffed animals, her siblings and a small chalkboard-- so she's been teaching for as long as she can remember! Amoryn graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Certificate in Home and Family Studies. She has taught Elementary School in Davis County and has been working as an Online Instructor for the BYU-Pathway program for the past eight years. Amoryn and her husband reside in Ogden with their 4 children. While homeschooling for the past three years, they have been grateful for more family time to learn and grow together. Amoryn enjoys reading, writing, playing the piano, going for walks, and making cookies.

Tara Whitley--FLICKER Mentor
Tara grew up in Utah on 6 acres filled with love and family. She was instilled with a love of learning by her mother while being homeschooled along with her 5 younger siblings. She was trained in and taught Montessori educational methods at Ogden Valley Montessori and Maria Montessori Academy. She loves children with their different personalities and strengths. She was married to her late husband in 2010 and now enjoys her favorite job of all, being a mother to their son. As a family they love reading and listening to books, playing games, talking, laughing, creating projects, all things history, camping, and ice cream.

Emma Coker--EMBER Mentor 
Emma Harris grew up the 4th of 5 kids in Tucson, Arizona. In 6th and 8th grade, she was homeschooled and really loved her experience getting that personal one on one attention that she needed. When she was 14, her family moved to Layton, Utah where she has lived the last 9 years. Emma has always loved learning and leadership. Her teenage and early adult summers were spent working at various scout camps and high adventure bases, working with youth and getting them excited about whatever it was they were doing. She completed her Bachelors in Communication with an emphasis in Interpersonal and Family in 2020. She loves the outdoors, playing her ukulele and trying new recipes.  She & her husband are excited to welcome a baby girl in 2022. ​

Heather Harris--EMBER Mentor 
Heather Harris grew up as the 8th of 9 kids in a musical family in Provo. Heather studied vocal performance in college in New York where she married Michael and they started their family of four daughters and one son. Homeschooling was a great part of Harris family life for various times and reasons. She has been a homeschool mom, a private tutor, and a classroom teacher. Heather loves outdoor adventures like hiking and canyoneering, and she's expert at finding all kinds of beauty. Cooking, writing poetry, reading, singing, psychology, and family history also bring much joy to living.

Julia Dye--FLARE Mentor
Julia was born in Washington but grew up in the deserts of Tucson, Arizona. She moved to Utah to continue her education at BYU. She served a mission in San Diego, after which she completed her bachelor’s degree at BYU in Elementary Education. During her practicum and student teaching experiences, she recognized her passion for working with children. Julia loves exploring the great outdoors and has worked at summer camps (BSA and AFY) for six years. That is also where she met her husband, Jordan. Together, they love going on adventures – hiking, biking, rappelling, kayaking, camping – anything to get outside and delight in the beauty of the earth. Julia has taught at Family Lyceum for four of the last five years, and she especially loves it when she gets to talk about bizarre ocean creatures or crazy science facts.

Alexis Bessey--FLICKER Mentor
Alexis Bessey grew up in Southern California. She graduated from BYU with a BA in Illustration and a minor in English.   Teaching and spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their three children is the greatest joy in her life.  She loves watching kids learn and struggle until they get it! Alexis enjoys rock climbing, trail running, drawing, hula dancing, doll sewing, book binding, and chocolate.  She also LOVES cardboard and hot glue guns and will try to make anything under the sun.

Alisa Shaffer--FLICKER Mentor
Alisa and her husband homeschool their two children in Ogden, Utah. They love being outdoors picking fruit on their property & coming up with all sorts of new projects. Alisa's students adore her and she loves challenging them to do their personal best in everything they tackle.

Emily Eden--Secretary
Emily has experienced Leadership Education firsthand. Homeschooled with this philosophy, she diligently pursued educational goals and personal interests. As the oldest of six children, she also learned management and responsibility at a young age. She loves teaching children and has taught swimming, biology, music and sewing. With a passion for the sciences, she studied Environmental Biology at BYU, worked as a biology TA, and graduated in Family Studies. Emily has a talent for sharing her love of learning with others. She and her husband Braydon spend most of their free time with their four daughters.
